Review: Tease by Mina Kelly
Posted by childofthehive | Filed under Book Reviews, Fantasy books
I’m a great believer in reading a wide variety of books, particularly for aspiring writers. That’s why this review is for a story that’s outside of my usual range. Tease by Mina Kelly is a paranormal, homosexual erotic novella, published as an e-book.
When I think of the genre erotica, there are some assumptions that leap instantly to my mind. I expect purple prose and a plot that is just an excuse to get to the sex scene. Fortunately, Mina Kelly avoids both of these traps. The story is a deeply emotional romance that manages to be both sweet and sad. The characters are engaging and the author’s descriptive style is beautiful and evocative. She has a great way of capturing not just the Cornish scenery but the strong emotional and physical connection between the characters.
In this story, Barnabas is an artist living on his own in a cottage on the Cornish coast. One night, he rescues a stranger from a terrible storm. Romance blooms between them but Barnabas begins to suspect that something more is going on.
For those with knowledge of English mythology, it’s not difficult to solve the mystery but it’s still satisfying to watch the pieces come together. As a reader, I wasn’t driven to keep reading because I wanted to know the answers to the paranormal part of the story; I wanted to know if things were going to work out between these two beautifully-crafted characters.
I would definitely recommend this story, but only if you’re not going to be offended that it contains sex between two consensual males.

Simply because there are lots of blogs and forums with numerous points of view, they question your comprehension. It is at these moments when you have valuable insignt other people may not have experienced, together with the blogger him/herself. I find myself coming back again to to your writings only simply because you’ve a number of very great insights and also you have been at this a really long time, that is very inspiring and tells me you understand your stuff.
